LYLA RYE

A 2 channel video installation that overlaps footage of a pillow and fan at the foot of a hospital bed with intermittent shots of circular imagery. The hospital imagery was shot as my mother lay dying off screen and the overlaid imagery was shot by my teenage daughter on her phone, along with the music playing in the background when it was filmed. The intermittent videos are colourful, loud and demand attention, interrupting the viewer from the meditative flutter of the pillowcase.
